An online vastu consultation is for anyone who lives outside Bangalore, in another Indian city or abroad, and wants a proper reading of their home, office or plot without waiting for a site visit. We do it by video call, working from your floor plan and from compass readings you take on your phone while we guide you room by room.
The method is the same VIDS 16-zone assessment we use on site in Bangalore. The difference is who holds the compass. You walk the property, we read the numbers, check them against the plan and map every room to its zone. You get a written report within 48 hours and the fee is ₹5,000.
Who an online vastu consultation is for
Most people who book online fall into one of a few groups:
- Families in Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Mysuru or smaller towns where we do not travel for a single apartment
- NRIs living in the US, UK, Gulf, Singapore or Australia who own or are buying property in India
- People abroad who want their current rented or owned home in that country reviewed
- Buyers who are shortlisting flats or plots and need a quick, reasoned opinion before paying a token amount
- Business owners outside Bangalore with a small office or shop
If you are in Bangalore and the property is a villa or a large home, a site visit is usually the better choice, because we can take our own readings and check for geopathic stress. For an apartment in another city, online works well. Our page for NRI clients covers some of the extra questions that come up when the owner and the property are in different countries.
What the online assessment covers
The scope is the full 16-zone reading. It is not a shortened checklist. We look at:
- The main entrance and which of the 32 entrance positions it falls in
- The zone of the kitchen, the stove and the sink
- Bedrooms, and who uses which one
- Toilets and bathrooms, especially any in the north-east or the centre
- The centre of the home and whether it is blocked or heavy
- Water storage, balconies, staircases and the puja area
- Heavy storage and where the weight of the house sits
What we cannot do over video is the Lecher Antenna reading for geopathic stress, because that needs the instrument and the consultant physically on the floor. We say this upfront so nobody pays for something they are not getting.
How the phone compass readings work
Most smartphones have a compass built in, or you can install a free compass app. Before the call we ask you to calibrate it by moving the phone in a figure of eight, and to keep it away from steel almirahs, fridges, inverters and switchboards, which pull the needle.
On the call you stand at the main door facing out and read the degree. Then we ask for readings in three or four other places: the centre of the home, against a long outer wall, near a window. If the readings agree within a few degrees, we trust them. If one is off, we know something metal nearby is affecting it and we take another.
Phones read magnetic north. Vastu zones are set from true north, so we correct for magnetic declination at your location using the NOAA magnetic declination calculator. In most of India the correction is small, but in parts of North America or Europe it can be large enough to move a door into a different zone.
What we need from you before the call
- A floor plan, even a hand-drawn one with rough measurements, or the builder brochure plan for an apartment
- Photographs of each room, the entrance from inside and outside, and the view from the main balcony
- The city and, for abroad, the full address or nearest town, so we can work out declination
- A list of who lives in the home and which rooms they use
- Any specific concern: sleep, money, health of the house, tension at work, a plan to renovate
Our guide to preparing for a vastu consultation has more detail. A clear plan saves time on the call and makes the report sharper.
Zone-by-zone: what we check on a remote plan
Once the plan is oriented, we draw the 16-zone grid over it from the centre of the property. Each zone is about 22.5 degrees wide. A few examples of what that shows on a typical apartment plan:
- North-east (Ishanya): ideally light and open. A toilet or heavy storage here is one of the first things we note.
- South-east (Agneya): the natural zone for the kitchen and the stove.
- South-west (Nairutya): suits the master bedroom and heavy furniture, and the head of the family.
- North: linked to opportunity and money in the classical texts, so we look for clutter, dark colours or a toilet.
- West and north-west: good for children, guests and storage that moves often.
- Centre (Brahmasthan): should stay open, not walled in by a heavy island or a column of cupboards.
The 16 vastu zones explained article walks through all sixteen in detail.
Common issues we find in remote homes
Some patterns come up again and again on online calls. Apartments with the main door in a weak pada because the builder placed every door on the corridor side. Toilets in the north-east because the plumbing stack sits there. Kitchens in the north-west or north-east because the floor plate was designed for views, not for zones.
Homes abroad bring their own pattern. Open-plan ground floors, staircases rising in the centre of the house, garages attached to one corner. None of these is a disaster, but each one needs a specific response rather than a general rule.
Corrections without demolition
Every correction we suggest works without breaking a wall. The tools are placement, colour, lighting, room use and decluttering. We may suggest moving the bed to a different wall, changing which family member sleeps in which room, shifting the stove a few feet, repainting a zone in a colour that suits its element, or clearing heavy storage out of the north-east.
We do not sell pyramids, yantras, crystals or any product, and we take no commission from anyone. If a problem truly needs construction, such as a toilet that sits right in the centre of the house, we say so plainly and explain what can be done in the meantime. Our page on zero-demolition vastu corrections gives more examples.
What you receive
Within 48 hours of the call you get a written report. It includes the plan with the 16-zone grid drawn on it, the reading for the entrance, a room-by-room note, and a short, prioritised list of corrections: what to do first, what can wait, and what to leave alone. You can see the format on our sample vastu report page.
If something in the report is unclear, a short follow-up call is included so you can ask questions before you start moving furniture.
Online vastu consultation fees
The fee is ₹5,000 for a home, wherever you are. That covers the plan review, the video call with guided readings, the written report and the follow-up call. Commercial and industrial properties are quoted separately, from ₹51,000, because they need more time and usually a site visit. A pre-purchase plot report is also ₹5,000.
The full fee list, including Bangalore site visits, is on our pricing page.
Online or on site: how to choose
Online is the right choice when the property is far from Bangalore, when you need a quick opinion before buying, or when the home is a standard apartment where the plan tells most of the story. A site visit is better for villas, independent houses, large plots and anything commercial, and wherever a geopathic stress reading matters to you.
We have written a fuller comparison in online vs onsite vastu consultation. If you are not sure, send us the plan first and we will tell you honestly which suits it.
Before you buy or rent
Many of our online calls happen before a purchase, not after. A plan and a direction are enough for us to say whether the entrance, kitchen and master bedroom fall in reasonable zones and whether any problem would be hard to fix later. Our apartment buying vastu checklist lists what to look at first if you are visiting flats yourself.
Why people book online with Vardhini Vastu
Raghavendra Hebbur has more than ten years of practice in Scientific Vastu and studies the Aparajitaprccha, a classical text on architecture. The VIDS method he uses is degree-accurate, measured from true north, and avoids demolition. There is no astrology in it and nothing to buy. Read more on our methodology page or about us.
What an online Vastu assessment covers
An online assessment uses traditional Vastu analysis only. We draw the 16-zone map from the centre of your plan, using compass readings you take with us on a video call, and lay the 3×3 grid over the same plan: the nine-square division with the Brahmasthan at the centre. Every finding comes from these two methods, such as which zone holds each door, room, kitchen, toilet and water point, and how the nine squares and the centre are used.
Geopathic stress readings with the Lecher Antenna and the Universal Aura Scanner are not part of an online assessment, because they need us physically on site. If your online report suggests a closer look is worthwhile, an on-site visit can follow.

Frequently asked questions.
What do I need to send for an online consultation?
A floor plan, photographs of each room, and the compass direction of the main entrance if you have it.
Is an online consultation as thorough as an in-person visit?
For the directional analysis, yes: the same 16-zone map and 3x3 grid are drawn on your plan. What an online consultation cannot include is a geopathic stress check with the Lecher Antenna or Universal Aura Scanner, which needs a site visit.
Can this be done for a property I haven't purchased yet?
Yes. Online consultations are commonly used for pre-purchase evaluation.
How is the report delivered?
As a written report within 48 hours, with a follow-up call or video discussion available.
Does an online consultation include a geopathic stress check?
No. Online assessments use traditional Vastu analysis only: the 16-zone map and the 3x3 grid drawn on your floor plan. Lecher Antenna and Universal Aura Scanner readings need an on-site visit.
Send your floor plan. We will take it from there.
