Vardhini Vastu is a Vastu consultant in HSR Layout for independent houses, multi-floor rental buildings and the many small offices and startups across Sectors 1 to 7, Agara and Parangi Palya. Most buildings here mix homes and businesses, and we assess each use on its own terms. Every home or office is measured on site, and none of our corrections involve demolition.
Our method applies traditional Vastu Shastra with measurement: compass readings at several points, a 16-zone map drawn from the centre of each unit and a Lecher Antenna scan. A written report follows within 48 hours.
Homes upstairs, offices downstairs
HSR Layout is a planned BDA layout of sectors with regular plots. Over the years many houses have become buildings of three or four floors, with the owner living on one, tenants on others and often a startup, clinic or coaching centre on the ground floor.
That mix shapes what people ask us. Families want rest, health and harmony at home. A founder on the ground floor wants focus, a stable team and steady cash flow. The building is the same, but the assessments are different.
What a Vastu consultant in HSR Layout checks in a startup office
For offices we follow how people and money move. The first things we map are:
- The entrance and the reception or waiting area.
- Founder seating: zone, facing direction and what is behind the chair.
- Finance and accounts: where money is handled and records kept.
- Team layout: who sits where and how teams move between areas.
- Meeting rooms and where client conversations happen.
- Storage, servers and pantry.
The founder usually belongs in the south-west part of the office, facing north or east with a solid wall behind. Reception works best near the entrance on the north or east side.
Tenants can do this too
Most offices in HSR Layout are rented. The good news is that office Vastu works almost entirely through layout: seating, desk orientation, storage, lighting and colour. None of that needs a landlord’s permission or any construction.
When a team grows and moves floors, the same principles carry over. We can review a new space from its floor plan before you sign the lease.
Shared entrances and staircases
When several homes and offices share one gate and staircase, the common entrance matters to everyone. We assess the building gate, the staircase and lift, and then each unit’s own door.
Clutter in the staircase, shoes and storage near the entrance, or a dark landing are common findings. Keeping the shared areas clear and well lit is a small change that benefits every unit.
Family homes and sleep
Bed direction and the zone of the bedroom are among the most common reasons families call us. We usually place the master bedroom in the south-west where the plan allows, with the bed head pointing south or west. Children’s rooms and guest rooms are allocated to the remaining zones based on use.
We also look at what surrounds the bed: mirrors facing it, heavy beams overhead, and electronics close to the head. These are practical points that sit alongside the directional reading.
Independent houses on HSR plots
Owners who live in the whole house, or are planning a rebuild, get a full plot reading: shape, setbacks, gate, staircase, sump, overhead tank and terrace. On a rebuild we review the architect’s drawings before work starts. See independent house Vastu for the checklist.
Clinics and coaching centres
HSR Layout has many clinics, physiotherapy centres and coaching institutes. For a clinic we look at reception, the consultation room, where the doctor sits and where records and medicines are kept. For a coaching centre, the classroom layout, where the teacher stands and the direction students face.
Each is a layout question, solved with furniture and room use rather than construction.
Moving into a new floor
People move often in HSR Layout, between floors, buildings and sectors. If you are about to move, send us the floor plan before you sign. A short drawing-based review helps you choose between options and plan furniture placement from day one.
How a visit in HSR Layout works
A typical apartment visit in HSR Layout takes one to two hours, and an independent house with a terrace takes longer. We take compass readings at several points, away from steel, wiring and appliances that disturb the needle, note how each room is used and scan bedrooms and work areas with the Lecher Antenna. Within 48 hours you receive the written VIDS report: the zone map, every reading, what is working, what needs attention and the corrections in order of priority.
Fees and what you receive
Fees are fixed by property type and quoted before the visit, with nothing charged afterwards for the report. Current Bangalore fees are on our Pricing page, and our sample Vastu report shows the format you receive. We do not sell yantras, pyramids or any products; every correction uses what you already have. Office assessments are quoted as commercial work, starting from the figure on the Pricing page.
Questions we hear in HSR Layout
“Do you do Vastu for startups?” Yes, offices of any size. See Vastu for Office.
“We rent. Can we still apply it?” Yes, every correction is non-structural.
“Can you assess one floor of a building?” Yes, with notes on shared areas.
“Which sectors do you cover?” All of them, along with nearby Koramangala and Bellandur.
Cash, records and the finance desk
In a small business the person who handles money often sits wherever there was space. In Vastu that desk deserves a stable zone, a secure cabinet and a seat away from the main walkway. Cash boxes and lockers are traditionally placed so they open towards the north. Records, contracts and invoices are kept in an organised, closed cabinet rather than open shelves.
These are simple changes that fit any office, and they are often among the first recommendations in our reports for HSR Layout startups.
Meeting rooms and client calls
Meeting rooms in the north-west or west part of an office are traditionally associated with discussions that conclude and move on. A meeting room in the centre of the office, or one that visitors reach by walking through the team area, works less well.
For founders who take investor and client calls from their own desk, we look at what is visible behind them on camera, which way they face and how the light falls. Facing north or east with a calm background is a good default.
Servers, storage and pantry
Heavy server racks, filing and stock are best placed towards the south and west. The pantry, coffee machine and any heating appliances suit the south-east, which is associated with fire. The north-east of the office should stay as open and uncluttered as possible, which in practice often means moving boxes and stored equipment that collect there.
Renting a home in HSR Layout
Many residents rent their flat. Our corrections are designed for tenants as much as owners: which room to use as the bedroom, where the bed and desk go, how to keep the north-east and centre clear and which colours suit each zone. You can take these habits with you when you move, and we can review the next home from its floor plan before you sign.
Ground-floor retail and cafes
HSR’s main roads have cafes, salons, boutiques and pharmacies. For these we read the entrance, the first thing a customer sees, the counter and the owner’s position. A well-lit, uncluttered entrance and a counter that lets the owner face north or east are typical first steps. Our shop Vastu page covers more.
