If you are looking for a Vastu consultant in Thanisandra, you are probably in one of three situations: choosing a flat in a project that is still being built, settling into a new apartment, or renting a home close to the tech parks on the Outer Ring Road. Vardhini Vastu helps in all three. We measure the home from true north, read it in 16 zones and give you a prioritised written report within 48 hours, with no demolition.
Thanisandra is largely a newer residential area, with tall apartment buildings rising along Thanisandra Main Road and smaller plotted pockets in between. The questions people ask here are practical: which unit to pick, how to set up the interiors, and what a tenant can change. Vastu Shastra, the traditional Indian science of space (overview on Wikipedia), has useful answers to all of them when it is applied with care.
Choosing a unit in a new Thanisandra project
Many of our Thanisandra clients come to us before they sign. They have a brochure, a short list of units and a deadline from the sales team. This is the stage where Vastu advice saves the most, because the choice of unit decides things no correction can fully undo, such as the entrance side and the position of the kitchen.
Send us the unit plan, the tower location on the master plan and the north arrow from the sanctioned drawing. We compare the units side by side and tell you, in plain words, which one reads better and why. When the flat is handed over we take a proper compass reading on site, because the built tower can sit a few degrees away from what the brochure shows.
A legal check is separate from Vastu, but we always suggest confirming the project on the Karnataka RERA portal before booking. Our apartment buying checklist covers the Vastu side.
Mirrored layouts and corner units
Large projects often repeat the same plan across towers, sometimes mirrored. Two flats with the same carpet area and the same price can end up with their entrances on opposite sides, or with the kitchen in the south-east in one and the north-west in the other. Corner units add windows on a second side, which opens an extra zone to light and air.
None of this is good or bad by itself. It simply means the unit, not the project, is what we assess. A sales brochure that calls every flat east facing is describing the tower, not your front door.
Setting up interiors the right way
The weeks between possession and moving in are the cheapest time to apply Vastu. Carpentry, lighting and kitchen fittings are still being planned, so placing them well costs nothing extra. Things we usually help decide:
- Which bedroom becomes the master bedroom, and where the bed head goes.
- Where the puja unit sits, and how it is lit.
- Where tall wardrobes and lofts go, so the north-east stays light.
- Where the study or work desk goes, and which way it faces.
- Colour choices for walls and soft furnishings, zone by zone.
If your interior designer is already working, we can share the zone map with them directly so the plan is adjusted before anything is built.
Renting near the tech parks
Thanisandra has many tenants, often young professionals and families working along the Outer Ring Road. Tenants cannot move a kitchen or knock down a wall, and they do not need to. Almost every correction we suggest is about how rooms are used and where things are placed, so it can be done without asking the owner and carried to the next home.
For a rented flat, an online consultation from a floor plan is often enough. If you want readings taken on site, a visit works the same way as it does for an owner. An online assessment uses traditional Vastu only, the 16-zone map and the 3×3 grid drawn on your plan; geopathic stress readings need a site visit.
Small plotted pockets and independent houses
Between the apartment projects there are older plotted layouts with independent houses, many with rented floors upstairs. These homes are read differently. We look at the whole plot, the compound wall, the gate, the sump and overhead tank, the external staircase and any additions made over the years.
If you own such a house and plan to rebuild, read our page on Vastu for new construction. Getting the plan right on paper is far simpler than correcting a finished building.
Traditional guidance and what we measure
Traditional guidance: classical texts, including the Aparajitaprccha, describe an ideal home with an open north-east, a heavy and stable south-west, fire in the south-east and water in the north. These are the reference points we start from.
What we measure: the actual orientation of your flat from true north, the exact degree of the entrance, the zone of each room and fitting, and, where we visit, bands of geopathic stress found with a Lecher Antenna. The report shows where your home matches the reference and where it does not, and which gaps are worth acting on.
How a Vastu consultant in Thanisandra works on site
Thanisandra is a reasonable drive from our office in Virgo Nagar, and weekend slots are available for working couples. A typical apartment visit takes one to four hours, depending on the size of the home,. We take several compass readings away from steel and electrical lines, then correct them for magnetic declination; you can check the current value on the NOAA declination calculator.
We walk through each room with you, note how it is used, and explain what we see as we go. Within 48 hours you receive the written VIDS report with the zone map, every reading, and the corrections in order of priority.
Common Thanisandra concerns we hear
“Our flat has a toilet in the north-east.” This is very common in compact plans. It cannot be moved, but its effect can be reduced with colour, lighting, ventilation and by keeping the door closed and the space spotless.
“The kitchen is in the north-west, not the south-east.” The north-west is an acceptable secondary zone for a kitchen in traditional guidance. We look at where the stove sits within it and which way the cook faces.
“We work from home all day.” The desk then matters as much as the bed. We find a zone that suits focused work and set the seat so you face north or east with a solid wall behind.
Fees for Thanisandra homes
Our fees are published and fixed before the visit. A Bangalore apartment or row house is ₹15,000. A villa or independent house is ₹25,000. An online consultation from drawings is ₹5,000. All options are on the fees page.
The fee includes the written report and follow-up questions on WhatsApp. You can preview the format in our sample report. We do not sell remedies or products and take no commission from any builder.
An honest word on results
Vastu helps a home feel and function better: better light, calmer rest, easier movement and a sense that the space supports the people in it. It does not guarantee money, a promotion, a marriage or good health, and we will never tell you it does.
What we can promise is a careful reading, a clear explanation of how much each issue matters, and corrections that you can actually carry out. To see how we work in detail, read our methodology, or book a consultation when you are ready.
High floors, balconies and open sides
Many Thanisandra flats sit high up, with large balconies and wide glass on one or two sides. In Vastu terms an open side lets that zone breathe, while a closed side holds it. A balcony in the north or east is usually welcome. A large open balcony in the south-west is less ideal, because tradition prefers that corner heavy and closed.
You do not need to enclose anything. Heavy planters, a solid privacy screen or a storage unit along the south-west balcony, and keeping the north and east balconies light and clear, bring the balance back. These are the kinds of changes a family can make in a weekend.
Sleep, study and the children’s room
Families moving into Thanisandra often ask about the children’s room. For study, we look for a zone in the west, east or north, and set the desk so the child faces east or north with a wall behind. For sleep, the bed head should point south or east, and the bed should not sit under a heavy beam if that can be avoided.
Where a Lecher Antenna reading finds a band of geopathic stress across a bed, simply moving the bed out of it is usually the first step. No product is needed for that, only a change of position.

Frequently asked questions.
Can you help me choose between two flats in Thanisandra?
Yes. Send both unit plans with the tower positions and north arrow. We compare them and explain which reads better, before you book.
I am a tenant. Is Vastu still useful?
Yes. Most corrections are about room use and placement, so tenants can apply them without changing the structure and take them to the next home.
Do I have to break walls?
No. Every recommendation works inside your existing layout. If something truly needs construction, we tell you plainly.
What does a Thanisandra apartment visit cost?
A Bangalore apartment assessment is ₹15,000, including the written report and follow-up questions. The fee is confirmed before the visit.
