This Vastu calendar lists traditional dates for October to December 2026 for the events families most often ask us about: Griha Pravesh, moving into a new home, renovation, buying a house or land, starting construction, opening a shop or office, and family ceremonies. The dates are general days drawn from the classical Panchang and compiled for Bangalore.
Please read them for what they are. These are traditional guidance, not measurements, and we make no promises about outcomes. Alongside the dates, this page explains the practical side that we work on every day: how to prepare the home itself, by direction, before you move in, renovate or build.
How to read this Vastu calendar
Each month lists events and the dates traditionally considered suitable for them. The dates are general, meaning suitable for most households on a typical day. Dates earlier than today have been removed. The calendar runs from October to December 2026, and 2027 dates will be added here once they are compiled.
Traditional guidance: the dates themselves. What we measure: the home you are moving into, renovating or building, which is where a Vastu reading makes a practical difference.

What this calendar leaves out
We do not publish dates for surgery, medicine or any medical treatment. Medical decisions should follow your doctor, never a calendar, and no one should delay treatment to wait for a date. We also do not offer horoscope or birth-chart readings; our work is the layout of buildings.
Before a Griha Pravesh: preparing the home
Whatever date you choose, the home itself matters more. A short checklist by direction:
- Keep the north-east clean, light and free of boxes and packing material.
- Set up the kitchen first, with the stove in the south-east part of the kitchen and the cook facing east if possible.
- Decide room allocation before furniture arrives: the couple or head of the family in the south-west bedroom.
- Place heavy wardrobes along the south and west walls.
- Keep the centre of the home open; do not leave cartons stacked in the middle.
- Make sure toilets are clean, dry and ventilated, with doors closed.

Moving into a rented home
For a rented home, the practical steps are the same, and almost all of them are in your hands: which bedroom each person uses, where beds and wardrobes stand, how the kitchen is arranged, and how the north-east and the centre are kept. See Vastu renovation for rental homes.
Renovation and interior work
If you are planning renovation or interiors around one of these dates, plan the layout first. Decide where the stove, sink, beds, wardrobes, study desk and pooja shelf will go, and which walls stay light, before the carpenter starts. In Bangalore, dry months are also easier for waterproofing, painting and flooring than the heavy rain season, which is a practical point worth weighing alongside any date.

Foundation, borewell and construction start
For a new house, the order of work matters. The borewell is usually drilled first, so fix its position in the north-east of the plot before the rig arrives. Foundations should follow a plan already reviewed by direction: staircase in the south or west, kitchen in the south-east or north-west, master bedroom in the south-west, open space on the north and east.

Buying a house or land
A date is a small part of a purchase. The bigger questions are the property itself: plot shape and slope, the entrance position, the kitchen and bedroom zones, and any toilet in the north-east. Check these before you sign. See pre-purchase Vastu check and our free Vastu zone and pada tools.
Opening a shop or office
For a new shop or office, arrange the layout before the opening day: the owner seat in the south-west facing north or east, the cash counter facing north or east, stock in the south-west, and an open centre. See Vastu for shops and Vastu for office.
Setting up the pooja space by direction
For a housewarming, the pooja is usually set up in the north-east of the home, the zone tradition keeps lightest and cleanest. To find it reliably, stand at the centre of the home with a compass, correct the reading for magnetic declination using the NOAA magnetic declination calculator, and mark the north-east zone. A phone compass alone points to magnetic north, which can place the pooja a little off.

A housewarming in an apartment
In a flat, the same steps apply inside your own unit. Find the centre of the flat, not of the tower, and read the north-east, south-east and south-west from there. The kitchen is often the first room families set up, so check that the stove can sit in the south-east part of the kitchen and that the cook can face east. Keep the main door area bright and uncluttered on the day, since it is where every guest enters. See Vastu for apartment.
When the date and the practicalities clash
Sometimes the listed dates do not fit a lease, a loan disbursement, school terms or the availability of family. Many families then choose the most practical date and put their effort into preparing the home well. Others hold a small ceremony on a listed date and move their belongings on another day. Both are common, and both are reasonable. What makes a home work day to day is the layout and how it is used, which is where our advice is focused.
Questions about the Vastu calendar
Do these dates apply outside Bangalore? They were compiled for Bangalore. Families elsewhere in India often use them as a general guide, but local almanacs may differ slightly.
Will you add 2027? Yes, once the dates are compiled and checked.
Can a Vastu consultation be done on any day? Yes. A layout reading does not depend on the date; it depends on the property.
A simple timeline for moving in
Families often find it easier to work backwards from the chosen date. A practical timeline looks like this:
- Four weeks before: have the home read by direction and decide room allocation, so the interior work and furniture orders follow the plan.
- Two weeks before: finish painting, plumbing and electrical work; check that toilets are dry and ventilated.
- One week before: clean the whole home, starting with the north-east; set up the kitchen with the stove in the south-east part.
- Two days before: move heavy furniture and wardrobes into place along the south and west walls; keep the centre clear.
- On the day: keep the entrance bright and open, set up the pooja space in the north-east, and leave packing material out of the main rooms.
This order keeps the heavy, noisy work well clear of the day itself and gives the home time to settle before guests arrive.
Offices, shops and factories
For a business opening, the same principle applies: arrange the layout before the day, not after. In a factory, machinery installation dates are only useful if the foundation and power point have been placed in the right zone first, with heavy machines towards the south and west and furnaces or panels in the south-east.
