What a Vastu consultant in KR Puram checks first

On a typical visit here, the first things we map are:

Many recently built apartments around Hoodi, Ramamurthy Nagar and Old Madras Road are compact two and three-bedroom units. In a flat the structure is fixed, so we focus on bedroom allocation, bed and desk direction, the kitchen arrangement, a clear north-east and an uncluttered centre. Most changes take a weekend.

Independent houses

For houses on their own plot we read the whole site: gate, compound, open sides, staircase, sump, overhead tank and terrace, then each floor. Plots in the surrounding layouts

There are plotted layouts around KR Puram and towards Budigere and Hoskote. A plot visit before purchase covers shape, road position, slope and surroundings, with a written opinion. If you then build, we review your architect’s drawings before work starts.

Shops along Old Madras Road

No products to buy

We do not sell yantras, pyramids, crystals or any other remedies. Our corrections use placement, room use, colour, light and elemental balance with what you already own. How a visit in KR Puram works

An apartment visit takes one to two hours; an independent house two to three. We take compass readings at several points, away from steel and appliances that disturb the needle, note how each room is used and scan bedrooms and desks with the Lecher Antenna. Within 48 hours you receive the written VIDS report with the zone map, every reading, observations and prioritised corrections.

Kitchens and fire

The south-east is the traditional zone of fire and the preferred place for the stove. When a kitchen sits elsewhere, as it often does in compact plans, we look at where the stove stands within it, which way the cook faces, and whether water and fire are pressed against each other. These are small changes with no construction.

Children and study

For school and college students, we place the study table facing north or east with a wall behind and daylight from the side, in a quiet zone away from the television. Good evening light and a clear desk matter as much as direction.

Improved transport has brought new projects to the area. Before you book a flat, send us the unit plan and tower position. We compare units from the drawings and confirm at possession. Also check the project’s registration on the Karnataka RERA portal, a legal step separate from Vastu.

Balconies and utility corners

Compact flats here often use a small balcony for drying clothes, a washing machine or storage. Where that balcony sits in the 16-zone map matters. A cluttered balcony in the north or east blocks the openness traditionally valued there, while a balcony in the south-west makes the heaviest zone the most open one. Moving storage and the washing machine to a south or west balcony where possible, and keeping the north and east ones clear and bright, is a simple change that costs nothing.

Mirrors, beams and bedroom electronics

Alongside direction, a few practical points come up in many homes: a wardrobe mirror facing the bed, a heavy beam running directly over it, and routers or chargers beside the pillow. We note these during the visit and suggest simple changes that sit alongside the directional reading, such as turning the mirror inward or moving the bed slightly.

Small businesses run from home

Some families in the area run a tailoring unit, tuition classes, a home bakery or an online business from a room in the house. We treat that room as a workspace: where the owner sits, where money and records are kept and where stock or equipment goes. Keeping the business corner organised and in a suitable zone helps separate work from family life, which is valuable in its own right.

Colour and lighting

In compact homes, colour and light do a great deal of the balancing. Lighter shades suit the north and east, warmer earth tones the south-west, and warm accents the south-east. We suggest colours zone by zone and point out where better lighting would help, especially in a dark north-east corner or a windowless centre.
